FOR THE CHILDREN’S CHORUS OF NEIL GURNEY’S

“SINBAD THE SAILOR”

will be held in Long Marston Village Hall

on SUNDAY 2^nd DECEMBER at 3.30pm.

** PARENTS MUST ALSO ATTEND**

Priority will be given to children living within the catchment area of (or attending) Long Marston School.

PERFORMANCES WILL BE IN LONG MARSTON VILLAGE HALL ON:

21^st, 22^nd & 23^rd February 2013. (Dress rehearsal: 19^th Feb.)

This is half term in Herts.

Children’s rehearsals start on Sunday, 6^th January 2pm – 5pm and continue

every Sunday until the performances. 

There will be only SIX rehearsals before the Technical and Dress Rehearsals and LOTS of songs & dances to learn, so you must be prepared to work very hard and concentrate during rehearsals.

®®®   ALL children must be able to attend ALL rehearsals   ¬¬¬

PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: ~

Be prepared to help with the children during at least 2 rehearsals and 1 performance.

The Dress & Technical rehearsals may finish very late at night. The performances finish 10.30 – 11pm.

PANTOMIME MEETING FOR ADULTS

Would YOU like to be involved in next year’s Pantomime?

(“SINBAD THE SAILOR” – 21^st, 22^nd & 23^rd February 2013)

We are always in need of more volunteers, so PLEASE come along to this short meeting, during which you can put your name forward to help in any of the following teams: front of house (selling refreshments, raffle tickets, programmes, etc.) costumes, props, scenery painting or construction, backstage crew and make-up.

 Neil will also be casting the Pantomime, so if you are interested in actually appearing on stage, please be brave and come along. After all, if there is not a part suitable for you in this Pantomime, there’s always next year!

 (We don’t start working on the Pantomime until January – only 7 weeks from start to finale – so your Christmas and New Year celebrations will not be affected)

On the field, things continue a-pace. We have all the usual stands, like the book stall, coconut shy and skittles. As always the tent will house the bar and afternoon teas and we are also putting the Pimms stall inside with the ice creams. The pony rides are back as well as the ever popular plant stall. However, the stage area could well steal the show this year as not only will we have a live band, but the show will be opened by The Bugles & Drums of the Stedfast Association who will be marching up from the Queens Head and we also have a Jazzersize Exhibition with audience participation! So why not come down and have a go!

On a much more serious note, these events cannot take place without the generous help of those people who give up their time to run stalls and help with stewarding etc to make your day as enjoyable as possible. It’s a mammoth task but one which the horti members thoroughly enjoy (allegedly). We do need to spread the load, though (our members seem to get older every year!) so if you have a little time available on the day and are willing to get involved as a helper – even if it’s only for an hour or so, we’d love to have your support, helping to set up in the morning, or clear up at the end of the day. For example, at the end of the show we auction off all of the items left in the hall. Whilst this is going on you may have noticed the 2/3 men who are trying to clear up the field after the day’s activities. They could really do with your help for an hour and the more people the merrier!  Whether you are participating, watching or helping, please join in and help perpetuate this timeless village event. We look forward to seeing you there.
