Three people expressed an interest in taking up the vacancy for a Parish Councillor left by the resignation of Mrs Kim Deathe.
This is encouraging in a small community, when many parish councils thoughout the land are struggling to fill vacancies. There are no automatic elections for Parish Councils – voters have to formally request a ballot. In this case no electors asked for a ballot in response to the notice placed by the Clerk to the Council, so the process is that candidates present themselves for interview by a panel of Councillors. The interviews have taken place, but at the time of going to press the result had not been announced.
